How to set up FieldWatch, what the dashboard shows, and answers to common questions.

Getting started

For managers setting up FieldWatch for the first time.

  1. 1

    Add your clients and sites

Open Clients & sites and add each client, then the sites you visit for them. Place the pin where the crew parks: arrival checks and late alerts are measured from there.

  2. 2

    Add your supervisors

On the Team page, add the person who leads each crew. They can sign in with a phone number or an email address. Use the WhatsApp button to send them their login details.

  3. 3

    Create your crews

Also on the Team page, create a crew for each team and assign a supervisor to each one. Schedules are planned per crew.

  4. 4

    Plan the day

On the Schedule page, choose a crew and a week, then add stops with arrival times. For a round you repeat, save it once as a Template and apply it to any week.

  5. 5

    Turn on notifications

On the Alerts page, turn on notifications so you hear about problems straight away. On an iPhone, first add FieldWatch to your Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen) and open it from there.

For supervisors

  • Sign in with the phone number or email address and the password your manager gave you.
  • Allow location access when your phone asks. Your location is only shared while FieldWatch is open.
  • Keep FieldWatch open during the working day. Tap Arrived at site when you get to a site, and Done — leaving site when you leave.
  • Add FieldWatch to your Home Screen so that it opens like an app.

Understanding the dashboard

Late or at risk
Crews who are late, or who will not reach their next stop in time.
Needs attention
Crews who are on time but may need a check: they have stopped for longer than usual, their location has not updated for 10 minutes, they are heading away from their next stop, or they are at a site but have not tapped Arrived.
Late alerts
Show when the crew was due and when their grace period ended, for example “due 08:00, not on site by 08:05”.
GPS mismatch
Arrived or Done was tapped away from the site. It appears under that tap.
Client colours
Each client has its own colour, shown beside its name throughout FieldWatch. You can change it when you edit the client.
Dismiss
Dismiss an alert once you have dealt with it. It stays on the Alerts page for your records.

Common questions

Location is blocked on an iPhone+

Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services and make sure it is on. In the same list, tap Safari Websites and choose While Using the App. Back in Safari, tap aA → Website Settings → Location → Allow, then reload the page.

Location is blocked on Android+

In Chrome, tap the icon to the left of the web address, then Permissions → Location → Allow. Make sure Location is switched on in the phone's quick settings, then reload the page.

A crew does not appear on the map+

Their supervisor needs to be signed in with FieldWatch open and location access allowed. The dashboard shows when their location last updated.

I am not getting notifications+

Turn them on on the Alerts page, on each phone or computer you use. On an iPhone, notifications only work from the Home Screen app.

I forgot my password+

Managers can use “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page. Supervisors who sign in with a phone number can ask their manager to set a new password on the Team page.

I cannot add another supervisor+

The free plan includes two supervisors. You can add more on the Billing page.

A payment did not go through+

Your supervisors keep working for 48 hours. Please complete the payment on the Billing page before then; after that, the additional supervisors are suspended until payment is received. Nothing is deleted.
